'That Dress' Used Brilliantly in New Domestic Abuse Ad

Just...wow

Last week, dressgate took the Internet by storm. Was "The Dress" black and blue or white and gold? Why was it so hard to see the real colors? What were we all missing?!?

Now, a new makes-you-stop-in-your-tracks ad from the South African branch of the Salvation Army is using "The Dress" to ask the same question—but with a very different and incredibly important message tied to it. In the ad, a bruised woman wears a clearly white and gold dress, and words on the ad read, "Why is it so hard to see black and blue? The only illusion is if you think it was her choice. One in six women are victims of abuse. Stop abuse against women."

If you are experiencing or think you might be experiencing domestic abuse, you can call The National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (1-800-799-7233).
