You could soon have that option, thanks to French business woman Katia Apalategui, who had the idea after witnessing her mother hold onto her late husband's pillowcase for the comfort of his familiar scent, reports The Guardian.
Don't worry—making a perfume out of your loved ones isn't as morbid as it sounds. The method involves taking the person's clothing and possessions and extracting the odor, the molecules of which can then be reconstructed in the form of a perfume. The whole process takes about four days and will run you about $600. Apalategui hopes to launch the business in September.

Okay, it might seem morbid, but it makes sense: Thanks to smell's close link to memory, there is nothing better than the lingering scent of your boyfriend's T-shirt that he left at your apartment or the distinct-but-indescribable smell of your childhood home when you visit your parents. Bottling these odors, says Apalategui, goes right along with keeping photos, videos, and other memories of the deceased. We'll let you make up your own mind about that one.
