Why All Healthy Girls Should Get Their Butts to a Music Festival This Summer

Wellness is all the rage while you rage.

Summer festivals used to be known more as partying escapes than wellness-based excursions, but that's all changing. Need proof? Look no further than the Lightning in a Bottle (LIB) festival in Bradley, California, running from May 21 to 25.

Fitness
LIB is brimming with chances to sweat it out—and not just during the music performances. Yoga and dance classes are plentiful, and get this: Women’s Health will be there leading fitness sessions such as "Wake-Up Call: Energize Your Body & Awaken Your True Potential" and "The Run Around," a fun way to explore the festival grounds.

Food
Acai bowls. Fresh-cut micro-green salads. Organic, raw, vegan treats. Juices and smoothies and then more juices and smoothies. Vendors will be serving up healthy, good-for-the-body-and-soul fare up all weekend long. There's also a Learning Kitchen, where you can go for hands-on nutrition classes and demonstrations about plant-based sauces, breakfast smoothies, and more.

Mind
At LIB, you can head to the Healing Sanctuary to find body therapists, counselors, even an elixir bar. The weekend is also packed with talks and workshops about meditation, inner peace, relationships, and everything in between.

"After years and years of many festivals focusing solely on music and partying, it is only natural that an improved, more sustainable model would emerge," says LIB publicist Russell Ward. "Wellness based festivals are here to stay." For a closer look at LIB, check out this video:
