Khloe Kardashian Still Considers Caitlyn Jenner Her 'Father Figure'

"You can't just turn your backs on your family," she tells WomensHealthMag.com in an exclusive interview.

Khloe Kardashian is no stranger to the spotlight. When events—no matter how big or small—happen in her family, there is no shortage of media coverage around them. Perhaps their most buzzed-about occurrence—the emergence of Caitlyn Jenner—has generated a media storm and much-needed attention to what it means to come out as transgender today. When we spoke to Khloe for our September 2015 issue, we wondered, however, what it was truly like for her to find out about her stepfather's transition.

"I know she's Caitlyn now," she told the mag. "But she's still my father figure [in the same way that] single mothers can also take on both roles. We want her to be as happy and free as she needs to be."

In case you needed any further reassurance that the Kardashian clan has been nothing but supportive of Caitlyn during recent months, Khloe went on to tell WomensHealthMag.com in a digital-exclusive interview at the cover shoot:

"I think the best thing about all of us is that we genuinely give unwavering amounts of love and support and are so un-judgmental but always so supportive and encouraging, no matter what we do. I think we're a real family, and we show that people have ups and downs and that people are going to make mistakes, go through different journeys, have highs and have lows. But no matter what, we show that people have to stick together. You're family. You can't just turn your backs on your family. I think that stands true to just people. Bruce isn't our blood, but he's committed to our family, so we're going to stand by each other. He's gonna stand by us, we're gonna stand by him."

[Editor's note: The digital interview with Khloe was done before Caitlyn's Vanity Fair reveal, which is why she uses male pronouns and the name "Bruce."]

We absolutely love and admire the solidarity Khloe shows toward her family.
