What’s the Secret to Believable Lash Extensions?
“It’s all in the application. Lashes tend to look clumpy and false when too much glue has been applied—you’ll be able to see the attachment. To ensure a therapist doesn’t apply too much glue, ask them to brush the false lash against the natural lash twice before applying. It’s also important to make sure that the lash is applied as close to the eyelid as possible. If you look at your lashes from the side, the attachment shouldn’t be visible. That means it’s perfectly fitted to the lash line.”

What’s the Deal with Mascara Applied on Lash Extensions?
“We advise clients not to use mascara because removing it is sometimes tricky. If you’re constantly applying pressure when removing mascara, the glue is likely to loosen, which leads to your falsies falling off.”

What’s the Trick To Removing Them Without Damaging Your Natural Lash Hair?
“Don’t DIY and pull your lashes off yourself because your natural lashes may fall out. If there’s no way you can visit the salon for removal (about six weeks after they’ve been applied), apply a dab of baby oil to your lash lines. Let the oil settle for half an hour, and then, with a clean mascara brush, gently brush your lashes. The oil helps to separate the glue—and that’s why you should only use a non-oil-based cleanser to take off your eye makeup when wearing lash extensions.”
