A recent Harris poll of 2,205 Americans found that 62 percent currently have pets. And we sure do love our furry friends; according to the survey, a growing number of people buy birthday gifts for their cats and dogs, cook for them, and let them sleep in their beds. In fact, if you ask us, having a pet is a whole lot better than having a man in your life. Here are just a few (very un-scientific) reasons why.
